The Story Behind Caught Dreamin

My journey into therapy was born out of tragedy, when I lost my late brother Mark in 2008. I navigated my grief as best I could, and eventually found myself back at school earning my Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work. I credit my late brother Mark for so much of who I am today because of who he was and the messages he shared throughout his time on earth. I didn't pay much attention when he was here, but became hyper aware upon his absence, of the wealth of wisdom he possessed and shared. He taught me great things, like how to freely dance to PRINCE (our favorite artist) and to express my feelings through playing the violin.

He taught me empathy, compassion and to accept people for who they are! He showed me through his own experiences of addiction, that it truly is a disease and not a moral flaw. He helped me to open my mind, to ALWAYS ask why, to be curious, to read, to learn and grow. I listen now and work to nourish and grow my heart, mind, body and soul - all of this, I bring to my practice.

Much of my last three decades have been dedicated to raising four wild and crazy kids that I LOVE SO MUCH! I have been blessed with a darling dual-citizen granddaughter who I love and adore! She is so much fun and such a breath of fresh air. I try to soak up her silliness, laughter, curiosity and love in every moment we are together.

When it comes to self-care, you can trust that as your therapist, I am an avid believer and practitioner of this important part of living. If I'm not playing the fiddle in our local classic country band, then you'll find me adventuring in the north woods with my partner Rob on our dirt bikes or mountain bikes. If you are ready to begin, our doors are open. Visit us at our Marquette therapy office or reach out through the website to get matched with a therapist.
